A few of our patrols enjoying the morning and about to head to class after their duties. Thank you to all of our patrols for being such wonderful student leaders.

Message from the Administration

Hello North Springfield Families and Friends, thank you for the warm welcomes and introductions. I’m enjoying being at NSES. It is such a caring and engaging school community.

Thank you PTA and all who participated in BINGO Night and Silent Auction on Friday, March 7. The event is a fan favorite and a huge fundraiser for our students' events.

We have a busy week ahead of us. Monday is an early release day with dismissal at 12:30 for Kindergarten - 5th grades. Our teachers continue their intensive professional development on the new literacy curriculum during the afternoon. Tuesday is our annual Tornado Drill. It’s practiced across the county and state during the month of March. Wednesday is Spring Picture Day and smiles all around.

Please let me know how I can be of best support to you as I become acclimated to this wonderful community and we move through the principal selection process.

Enjoy this week. Spring has sprung!

Interim Principal

Search Process for New Principal Continues

Dear North Springfield Elementary School Parents, Staff and Community Members:

The search process continues for a new principal for North Springfield Elementary School. An important step in this procedure is to inform parents, staff, and community members about the principal selection process. An important meeting was held on Monday, February 24, 2025. At that meeting, the process was explained.

Multiple levels of interviews will occur to select a candidate who is the best fit and match to lead North Springfield Elementary School. A panel interview will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025. The advisory panel will be comprised of three staff representatives, and three parent (or community) representatives from the North Springfield community.

If you are interested in serving as a panelist, please submit your information by close of business on Tuesday, March 11, 2024 using the google form link Principal Input and Advisory Panel Interest . The Region 6 Leadership Team will review all submissions and select staff and community members to serve as either panelists or alternates for these interviews. The Department of Human Resources will contact the individuals who are selected to serve in this capacity.

Another critical component to the process is your input. Please provide input detailing the skills, experiences, and leadership characteristics needed at your school. Include challenges and issues that the new principal will need to address. Principal professional skills include instructional leadership, school climate, human resources, organizational management, and communication and community relations.  Your input is confidential. Please submit your input  using the google form link  Principal Input and Advisory Panel Interest by Tuesday, March 11, 2024.

I look forward to working closely with North Springfield Elementary School parents, staff, and community members during the principal selection process.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michelle Boyd

Assistant Superintendent of Region 6

We actually have a winter this year.  There looks to be the potential for 2 or 3 weather systems next week.  Please monitor the school systems annoucements for delays and closings.  Make sure your students bring hats and gloves to school as we will still try to have outdoor recess when we can.

Enjoy the football games this weekend, stay warm, and we look forward to seeing everyone soon as the PTA has some great events on the calendar over the next few weeks.
