Our Next Principal Search

-

Dear North Springfield Elementary School Staff, Parents, and Community Members,

We are beginning the search for a new principal for North Springfield Elementary School. An important step in this procedure is to inform parents, staff, and community members about the principal selection process. An important meeting will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 6 p.m. This meeting will be held virtually on Zoom.

We will outline the multiple levels of interviews that will take place to select a candidate who is the best fit and match to lead North Springfield Elementary School. A panel interview will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025. The advisory panel will be comprised of three staff representatives, and three parent (or community) representatives from the North Springfield Elementary School community.  If you are interested in serving as a panelist, please submit your information by close of business on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, using the Principal Input and Advisory Panel Interest form. The Region 6 Leadership Team will review all submissions and select staff and community members to serve as either panelists or alternates for these in-person interviews. The Department of Human Resources will contact the individuals selected to serve in this capacity.

Another critical component of the process is your input. Please provide input detailing the skills, experiences, and leadership characteristics needed at your school. Include challenges and issues that the new principal will need to address. Principal professional skills include instructional leadership, school climate, human resources, organizational management, and communication and community relations.

Your input is confidential. Please use the Principal Input and Advisory Panel Interest form to submit your information by Tuesday, March 11, 2025.

I look forward to working closely with North Springfield ES staff, parents, and community members during the principal selection process.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michelle Boyd
FCPS Assistant Superintendent, Region 6
