New student and kindergarten registration
We look forward to meeting new families!
If you are new to the area, you can enroll your student(s) throughout the school year and during the summer months.
Please contact our registrar, Donna Kruse, at 703-658-5500 or by email at @email She will schedule a time for you to come to the office. She will also review with you the FCPS registration requirements, including items you will need to bring to the office such as:
- proof of residency,
- proof of birth,
- health documentation, and
- documentation of previous educational program.

FCPS Registration Requirements
You can save time during your initial school visit by filling out the required registration forms available through the FCPS website, printing them out and bringing them with you to the appointment. New Students - Special Circumstances
If any of the following apply to your family, please contact the FCPS Dunn Loring Center, 703-204-6740, (or email Patricia Durish, @email) before coming to North Springfield Elementary:
- Home languages other than English,
- Foreign exchange students requiring I-20 student visas,
- Students whose natural parents or legally adoptive parents do not reside in Fairfax County,
- Tuition-paying students, and/or
- Students in foster care placed by other Virginia counties or by out-of-state agency.
Are you a military family? Take a look at additional information specific to the registration of military family students.
Will your child turn five years old by September 30? If so, he/she may enter our full-day kindergarten program.

Students Moving Within FCPS System
If a student is already an FCPS student but has moved to another area within the county that is serviced by another FCPS school, the parent or guardian should contact our school registrar, Donna Kruseat 703-658-5500 or by email at @email to assure that the school records are properly transferred.
