Congratulations to Allison Mallon on being recognized as the September 2019 FCPS Cares Recipient of the Month for Region 2 by the Department of Human Resources. Congratulations, Ms. Mallon!
Below is the write up submitted by a parent at North Springfield Elementary School.
My daughter fell on the playground at recess and was crying uncontrollably. After picking her up from school, Mrs. Mallon reached out and let me know she was worried about her and wanted to make sure all was okay. She ended up breaking her arm. Mrs. Mallon was so concerned, she asked if it was okay if she paid a visit on a Saturday to see my daughter. It was the highlight of my daughter's weekend. Seeing her teacher in her homemade all pain fade from existence. And that Mrs. Mallon brought her a cheer-up treat, too, was amazing. It was the first time I have seen my daughter ask to write a thank you note to someone on her own. This isn't the only time Mrs. Mallon has gone above and beyond. She generously gave up an evening early in the school year to be the guest speaker about Responsive Classroom Management at our PTA meeting. We do free babysitting at PTA meetings, and our children loved that she brought her daughters with her to play with them as well. Mrs. Mallon truly makes NSES feel like a family. We are so glad she is back!
